A trilogy called Myriad Universes each offer three novellas showing amazing alternate realities that put wild spins on Trek history. The comics and novels are able to use it even more. But episodes have offered other turns on classic moments, showing how vastly different things could have been with just one minor alteration. Time travel has led to quite a few different takes on history although it’s set right in the end. However, it’s not the only alternate history the Trek mythos have given us. Deep Space Nine returned to this universe to reveal how the Empire was overthrown by a Klingon/Cardassian alliance with more twists to characters.
